Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park employee visits township and school in South Africa
Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park employee Rebecca Tapp has recently taken a once in a lifetime trip to become a volunteer teacher in South Africa. Rebecca, from Cullompton, taught children at Sithobelumtheto Senior Primary School in the Madadeni Township in North East South Africa and took some gifts from Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park to give to the children.
Rebecca said: “I was really fortunate to be able to visit the Madadeni Township and the Primary School. I met some amazing people and it was a very humbling experience. I am really grateful to Crealy’s Chief Executive, Chris Down who paid for additional luggage for me to be able to take gifts for the children and a substantial amount of teaching resources that I needed throughout my time there.”
Rebecca continued: “I took lots of gifts with me, including Crealy goodies – making sure that I had some Buddy Bears. I gave these to two children that I met from the school called Nkosi and Madela who were both aged 12 and were very grateful to receive them.”
Chris Down, Chief Executive of Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park said: “We wanted to support Rebecca in her trip by offering to pay for her additional luggage to enable her to take more of her teaching resources and gifts for the children. It is amazing what she has done and everyone from the Crealy family is extremely proud of her.”
