The Devon Association of Tourist Attractions is pleased to announce that they have two NEW members joining the Association for 2018. Torre Abbey and Coldharbour Mill have both been awarded the acclaimed tourism quality stamp and now feature amongst Devon’s Top Attractions.

To qualify as a member, the attractions go through a rigorous inspection process and have to pass the Association’s strict quality criteria.  These inspections ensure that visitors experience quality in terms of venue, facilities, content, service and value for money.

Association members are regularly inspected to make sure these standards are maintained and improved.  The aim of this not-for-profit tourist organisation is for members to work together to raise and maintain the high-quality standard of Devon visitor attractions and to have a united voice within the industry.

The Association continues to promote Devon to both UK and overseas visitors at major travel trade exhibitions and their Complete Guide to Devon brochure sees up to 1.1 million distributed each year.

The NEW 2018 Guide is now available at over 3,500 outlets across Devon, the UK and online and it continues to be the largest distribution of any tourism guide in the South West.

Mischa Eligoloff, Arts and Culture Manager at Torre Abbey Museum, said: “We are delighted to become a member of DATA which represents high quality attractions across Devon.  As a contemporary prestigious heritage attraction and voted Visitor Attraction of the Year at the South Devon Tourism Awards, Torre Abbey Museum is a perfect fit.

“The museum is also growing as a cultural hub with world class exhibitions shown alongside creative work from local emerging talent. It is now home to festivals, comedy nights, outdoor cinema and theatre performances. We are also a beautiful setting for weddings, a great space for workshops and the perfect venue for school visits.”

Martin Halse, Chief Executive at Coldharbour Mill said “We are thrilled to be accepted into DATA and to see all the hard work of our volunteers and staff has culminated in Coldharbour now being recognised as one of Devon's top attractions. 2018 is a big year for us, as we are now open 6 days a week from April to October, offering more steam days and increasing the number of workshops and heritage experiences available. We can't wait to kick off the 2018 season with our February Half Term and Easter Steam Days.”

Chris Murray, Chairman for the Devon Association of Tourist Attractions (DATA) said, “We are delighted to welcome both Torre Abbey and Coldharbour Mill as members of the Association. Devon continues to raise the bar in quality tourism destinations, we now have 44 members who offer top quality days out and visitor experiences.”

Devon’s Top Attractions continue to feature as finalists and winners at both the Devon and South West Tourism Excellence Awards, further highlighting Devon’s high-quality status within the wider UK Tourism industry.
