Devon pet photographer launches exhibition in aid of dog rescues
Each year, professional pet photographers around the world unite to raise funds for animal rescue by contributing to the Tails of the World Book Project. To date, the annual Tails of the World Books have featured over 1,150 dogs and raised over £75,000.
Local pet photographer Fiona Crawford, who owns the horse and dog lifestyle photography business in Devon, wanted to raise money for the local dog rescue, K9 focus in North Devon.
The Tails of the World Project was the ideal opportunity to collaborate with photographers across the globe and raise vital funds for pet rescues. Fiona’s clients donated 100% of their shoot session fee direct to K9 Focus. Fiona set up the photography sessions in Exeter to celebrate the city and the pets in it.
Fiona, set out to photograph eight dogs in Exeter to include in the pages of this internationally published coffee table book. Each photography session fee was donated directly to K9 Dog Rescue, based in North Devon.
Fiona said she was “so excited to have been part of this fundraising project”, “to raise money for a local dog rescue and have so much support from clients and the three local businesses supporting me is just a dream come true”.
Fiona is one of 94 photographers across the world taking part this year. The book called 'Tails of the World’ is due to launch the first week of December.
Fiona has had support from three local businesses to host a rolling exhibition until 17th December. Each business has donated a space for Fiona to put up three frames featuring images for the book. Fiona will change the frames every 2 weeks so all three locations will host the full selection of images over the 6 weeks.
The businesses are:
Catkins Blooms - Cafe and Florist in Winkleigh
The Fox and Hounds Hotel at Eggesford
The Prospect Inn on the Quay in Exeter.
Suzanne at the Prospect said: ‘We are privileged to be part of this project and thank Fiona for asking us’.
