On Wednesday 20 August, shoppers in Princesshay will have the opportunity to hear and appreciate the talents of members of CEDA, an Exeter-based charity for disabled people.

CEDA find imaginative and creative ways to provide support services to disabled people of all ages, with a focus on independence and empowerment.

With funding from a Youth Music grant, CEDA have been offering children and young people the chance to experience and learn a range of music including Taiko drumming, playing instruments, singing, story-telling through music, beat boxing and DJ’ing as well as accessible music such as the soundbeam and ipad apps.

Music Co-ordinator, Mike Cook said: "The performances at Princesshay are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the success of the young people who have been working hard to learn new skills and achieve awards in their chosen musical field. Music is a great way for us to celebrate and gain confidence.”

The Princesshay event takes place between 11.30am and 2pm on Wednesday 20 August.

Another celebratory event will take place at Exeter Phoenix in October. This will highlight the achievements of the young people and mark the end of the music project.
