Donation money reportedly stolen
Members of the public took to Facebook last night to warn others about a female they believe has commited fraud.
They stated, via the social networking site, that a fundraising page was made by the female in remembrance of Nicole Hartup.
12 year old Nicole Hartup sadly passed away in May after falling from a wall at a Wonford Youth Club.
However, instead of using the funds for good causes, Facebook users claim the female has kept the money.
Users vented their anger online, with one writing:
"I think it is absolutely DISGUSTING that xxx xxx has stole(sic) all the money that people donated to the Nicole Hartup website fund. All the effort all of us around Exeter and everywhere else put into the funds for her family and this is what happens."
Whilst another wrote:
"Everyone who donated it is very important that you ring action fraud on 03001232040 they are open till 5pm today tomorrow 9am-5pm and mon-fri 9am-8pm to report xxxx for fraud and get action taken..."
It is believed the Police are investigating the incident. However, a spokesperson from Devon and Cornwall Police was unavailable for comment.
