Easter Eggstravganza at Axhayes
On Friday 18th April 2014 Exeter Axhayes Adoption Centre will be holding their annual re-homing/open day which they are calling their “Easter Eggstravaganza”.
The centre will be open from 11am till 4pm and it is guaranteed to be a family fun packed day as well as hoping to re-home many of the cats in their care.
Entrance is free with a donation of cat food, and there will be lots to do, including an Easter egg hunt (a charge of £1 per child), children’s entertainment, craft stall, cake decoration, refreshments and a BBQ, birds of prey static display, dog agility course plus lots more. The centre will be open for people to visit, look at the cats and kittens in their care and see the work that is done by Cats Protection. We hope lots of cat lovers will come along as it will help raise some much needed funds to help us care for unwanted cats.
The centre currently has about 200 cats awaiting a second chance in life, with a long waiting list of cats looking for their help.
Ric Brown, spokesperson for the Friends of Axhayes group who help fundraise and promote the work of the centre said, “This year our Easter fun day and open day have been combined to make it bigger and better. All monies raised will go directly to the centre helping local cats and kittens. The work of the centre relies entirely on contributions and donations from members of the public.”
The centre is located just off the Sidmouth Road, just past the Cat & Fiddle pub, opposite the Exeter City FC training ground.
