Enjoy a cosy film at your local library
A new winter season of low-cost ‘Films at the Library’ is being rolled out by Libraries Unlimited across Devon and Torbay.
It’s now the seventh successful season of cosy in-house screenings for the charity, which runs the 54 libraries across the county.
The new season kicks off on Wednesday 6th November and the films on offer include the must-see Barbie movie, children’s favourite Wonka, and the ever-popular The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry.
Ten libraries will be running the screenings and each film costs just £3 - tickets can be bought online or in person in the library.
The festival is organised by Libraries Unlimited, with funding from Arts Council England and Exeter City Council.
Tamsin Pender, programme co-ordinator at Libraries Unlimited said: “‘Films at the Library’ has become a much-loved permanent fixture in our calendar, with two seasons running each year. We’re keeping our prices much lower than standard cinema costs and giving people the opportunity to enjoy new and less well-known films as well as some old favourites. Our customers have said they love the atmosphere and the fact you can bring as many blankets and cushions as you like and really relax! Winter is the perfect time to snuggle up in a warm welcoming library for an afternoon or evening of low-cost film indulgence.”
