Exeter CAB opens new premises
Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau held a celebration to mark the opening of its new city centre offices.
Guest-of-honour, MP Ben Bradshaw officially opened the charity’s new premises which are now based in Dix’s Field.
And there was a special honour bestowed on one of Exeter CAB’s most dedicated volunteers.
Anna Warne, who has worked as a volunteer and later as a member of the trustee board for more than 32 years, was made the organisation’s first ‘life friend’. The office’s new meeting and training room was also named in her honour.
Steve Barriball, chief executive of Exeter CAB, said: "As well as celebrating our new location we also took the opportunity to thank Anna for all she had done for the people of Exeter and the time and commitment she has given for this essential charity. She is an inspiration and I know she will be sorely missed."
People can access help and advice from Exeter CAB’s new city centre offices every day from 10am.
Dennis Mardon, chair of Exeter CAB, said they were very pleased with the new location. He added: ‘The new premises offer ground floor accommodation with its own dedicated entrance, larger client interview rooms, and improved ventilation and heating. In addition, our new look reception provides enhanced opportunities for clients to access on-line help supported by volunteers.’
