Exeter care home put together hampers for Silver Sunday and donate to Age UK
Cumberland Grange Care Home in Exeter have recently teamed up with Luscombe Drinks in Devon to put together some wonderful hampers for Silver Sunday which took place on Sunday 2nd of October.
Silver Sunday is a National Day which aims to combat loneliness and isolation in local communities. There are many things which people of all generations can do by coming together to offer support and company as well as by hosting fun and free activities for older people.
So, Cumberland Grange were thrilled to do their bit to support this fantastic National Day by putting together hampers full of goodies which could go out to a number of older people within the Exeter Community. In order to distribute these hampers, Chief Executive Nicky Flynn and Enabling & Home Support Service Manager Karen Brooks from Age UK kindly offered to find them the best homes.
Home Services Advisor Mica and Resident Maureen from Cumberland Grange can often be found supporting their local community and so they very happily delivered the hampers to Age UK here in Exeter.
Resident Maureen said: ‘Doing that for the people in our community really did make my day, I’m sure they will really enjoy what’s inside.’
Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
