Exeter care home resident celebrates 103rd birthday
Helena Alice Walker, resident at RMBI care home, Cadogan Court in Exeter, celebrated her 103rd birthday on Thursday 1 October.
Helena enjoyed a lovely morning sharing her birthday cake with residents, family and friends at the Home and playing her favourite game, Bingo, at which she also won a prize.
Helena has been a resident at Cadogan Court for three years. She was born in 1912 near Bow Bells in East London and worked as an upholsterer at Queen Anne’s Mansions, near Buckingham Palace.
Helena married Chef John Walker, and has two children and a grandchild. She also used to run a guesthouse in Bude, Cornwall.
Today, she very much enjoys playing bingo and indoor bowling with the other residents at Cadogan Court.
