Exeter Chamber crucial to Exeter’s success
Exeter City Council Chief Exec and Growth Director, Karime Hassan has recognised Exeter Chamber of Commerce as crucial to Exeter’s success at a recent networking event to start the celebrations of the Chamber’s 150th anniversary year.
At the event Mr Hassan noted, how key individuals including vice president of the Chamber, Derek Phillips, had played an important, long term, role in the continued success of the city’s economy, including strategic developments outside the city.
Karime Hassan said: “Together Exeter City Council and Exeter Chamber share a united public/private voice on behalf of the city. Exeter’s tightknit and welcoming private sector network has played a key role in attracting business here and Chamber is very much at the heart of it. I am delighted to celebrate the organisation’s 150th year.”
Held at Café Rouge in Princesshay on Thursday 22nd June, the summer networking event touched upon some of Chamber’s achievements over the years, bringing business into the city and supporting growth.
Derek Phillips, vice president of Exeter Chamber of Commerce said; “Exeter Chamber is at the centre of Exeter’s business community, representing, informing and providing promotional services for our members. We pride ourselves on the service we offer Exeter businesses and hope that we are here for another 150 years to continue supporting growth and prosperity in the City. We look forward to holding many more events throughout the year and rounding it off with an extra special Business Dinner in November!”
The 2017 Exeter Business Dinner will be held on Friday 17th November at Sandy Park and will look to attract over 400 guests to celebrate and raise a glass to the city of Exeter and 150 years of Exeter Chamber of Commerce.
