Exeter church hosts huge LEGO event in unique experience for families

Each year, a staggering 36 billion of the world-famous LEGO bricks are produced and enjoyed by people all over the world.

And in a few weeks time, just some of these will be heading down to Exeter to a city church for a special and innovative event that it’s hoped will attract families and children from across the city

For the first time, and in a unique expression of church activity, Rediscover Church, which has recently moved into The Former Range store at Exeter Quay with over 1200 seats in the building, will host the event to inspire budding builders with creativity and imagination.

The event called ‘Lego Bible Builders’, on 5th October, will invite kids and their parents to team up by creating Lego masterpieces inspired by stories in the Bible, from epic towers to giant animals from the story Noah and the Ark.

The church are organising thousands of bricks to be bought in for this special event which looks to be very popular, after the recent success of the Channel 4 hit TV show ‘Lego Masters’ which sought to bring teams together to make LEGO creations in a battle for a prize.

The church hopes the enduring success of the brick, will provide a fun and one-of-a-kind experience for families that will see children build creations of all shapes and sizes, as they enjoy being in the resource of their new larger and more comfortable church building facility, which they moved into in April.

Jason Ham, is the church’s Kids Ministry Coordinator, and said:

“LEGO is a firm favourite in any toy box. We love families and know that children have the most amazing imaginations. So, we thought, why not bring these two things together for this creative event which will see families come and build incredible LEGO creations inspired by stories in the Bible, plus having lots of fun at the same time. Our family events are always very popular which we run throughout the year, and with the ever-continuing success of the LEGO brick, this will no doubt be popular too!”

The event takes place on Saturday 5th October from 10am – 12pm and is free. Families are asked to book online at www.rediscoverchurch.com/lego
