Exeter Co-op re-launches following major makeover to ‘transform’ the store

Co-op re-launches its Queen Street, Exeter, store following an eight-week programme of works and improvements to ‘transform’ the store.

The store is the first of around 80 Co-op stores across the UK to have a major refurbishment in 2025, which is alongside the convenience retailer’s ambitions for convenience growth and to open an additional 75 new shops this year.

Alongside the fresh, new-look, the investment in theQueen Street store offers an enhanced range of fresh and healthy produce, alongside a focus on food-to-go and meal deals; Fairtrade products, an in store bakery, hot food and, award winning wines. Added services include Costa Coffee Express, payment services via PayPoint and an ATM providing access to cash in the community.

The store also acts as a fulfilment hub for Co-op’s leading Quick Commerce operation, with the online delivery of groceries available through Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Orders are picked fresh in the local store, and delivered quickly and conveniently locally.

Supporting UK farmers all of Co-op’s fresh meat – including in its ready meals, pies and sandwiches - is 100% British.

Member prices create additional value for Co-op’s member-owners, with lower prices on the products shoppers buy most.

Soft plastic recycling is also available in the store, enabling consumers to return harder to recycle materials such as crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches

The relaunch of the new-look Queen Street, Exeter, store comes after the convenience retailer revealed growth ambitions with plans to open up to 75 new stores this year, consisting of both Co-op estate stores and Franchise stores. Plus, up to 80 further stores which are set to undertake major refurbishments in 2025.

Co-op’s Queen Street, Exeter, store now opens between 6am-10pm daily.
