Exeter & Devon Crematorium Hosts Community Christmas Service

Exeter & Devon Crematorium invites the local community to its annual Christmas Memorial Service, providing a reflective space to remember loved ones during the festive season.

The service will be held at the crematorium’s chapel on Wednesday, 18 December, at 7 p.m. The evening will be led by a local celebrant and will feature heartfelt readings, traditional carols, and moments of quiet reflection.

Attendees will be able to dedicate a personalised star in memory of a loved one, which will be placed on the crematorium’s memorial tree. This collective tribute, displayed throughout the festive period, offers a poignant way to honour those no longer with us.

This year’s event will also include a raffle, with all proceeds going to Pete’s Dragons, a local charity offering essential support to individuals and families affected by suicide across Devon and North Somerset

Martin Saunders, Business Leader at Exeter & Devon Crematorium, said:
“Our Christmas Memorial Service offers a supportive environment for the community to come together in remembrance and reflection. We are especially proud to support Pete’s Dragons this year, whose vital work provides guidance and assistance to those navigating the devastating impact of suicide. We hope this event fosters a sense of connection and comfort for all who attend.”

The event is free to attend, and everyone is welcome. Complimentary festive refreshments will be provided to all guests.

The Christmas Memorial Service will take place at St. Peter’s Chapel, Exeter & Devon Crematorium, Topsham Road, Exeter, EX2 6EU.
