Exeter Junior School pupil to star in British feature film
An Exeter Junior School pupil is delighted to star in a new British feature film called Innocent Candy.
Minti Gorne is set to start filming in Skegness alongside former 'EastEnder' Danielle Harold, John Altman - better known as EastEnders' 'Nasty Nick', former Blue member and established actor Antony Costa and Eddie Peel who is a long-standing star of many shows, including The Bill.
The 10-year-old is no stranger to the world of acting; she starred as young Vivian alongside Mark Wahlberg and Sir Antony Hopkins in last year's Hollywood blockbuster 'Transformers: The Last Knight'.
Minti said she was looking forward to her new role as Ruby, a young street-wise kid that has had a very tough upbringing.
"My character lost her mother very young and her father is a violent man that has no time for Ruby so she has to learn to look out for herself," she said.
"Her step mum Savannah has no time for Ruby either so she longs for the relationship she lost with her mum. Circumstances force her into the care of somebody who could impact their lives for better or worse."
Minti has enjoyed acting, dancing and singing since she was very young, starting Stagecoach when she was four years old.
"I am lucky to go to a brilliant school where drama is a very important part of it," she said.
"I have singing and dance lessons every week as well as still attending Stagecoach at the weekend.
"The acting world is tough but if you believe in yourself, work hard and never give up, dreams do come true and they did for me as I had some amazing opportunities."
