Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace a 32-year-old man from Exeter who is wanted for recall to prison after breaching his prison license conditions.

Shay Scales (pictured) was originally charged with theft and imprisoned earlier this year but has failed to comply with conditions of his prison release license as part of his probation.

Numerous enquiries have been made by police to try and locate him.

Police are asking the public for information about his whereabouts and to report any sightings to them.

Scales has connections across Devon, in particular in Exeter and Tiverton.

He is described as 5ft 11ins tall, of proportionate build and with brown/ginger hair. He has tribal patterns and letters tattooed on his right arm.

Anyone who sees Scales or knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101, quoting log 509 of 7 August.

Alternatively information can be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously via their online form on crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling 0800 555 111.
