Exeter Scouts' Community litter pick and path sweep
Exeter 19th Cub Scouts will be undertaking a community litter pick and path sweep as part of their Community Challenge Badge on Wednesday 16th January 2013 from 6.30pm to 8.00pm.
For the second year running they will be assisting Exeter City Council
cleansing department by sweeping through Belmont Park and surrounding streets with their own brooms and spades, and litter-picks and refuse sacks provided by the city council.
Pack leader Jo Farquharson says, "This is a great opportunity for the 23 8 to 10-year-olds in the Pack to go out in the fresh air, do some
physically hard work and learn the enjoyment of working together in
service to the community. We would like to thank Colin Acton and his
colleagues in the Cleansing Department for their support and advice.
"The evening will be rounded off in traditional scouting style with a cup of hot chocolate to keep out the cold."
