Firefighters from Exeter Danes Castle, Middlemoor and Topsham were called out to a Clyst Honition pub after a domestic property inside caught on fire.

On arrival, at 5pm Saturday afternoon, crews immediately deployed two breathing Apparatus wearers to prevent the spread of fire within the flat.

The fire was extinguished using one hose reel jet, a positive pressure ventilation fan and thermal imaging camera were also used.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

The incident comes less than two weeks after a severe fire at Exeter's Hole in the Wall, which has left the pub unopen for business due to damage.
