First Great Western: only travel if your journey is essential
First Great Western is reporting severe problems on its West of England service and saying people should only travel if your journey is absolutely necessary.
- Train services in Devon and Cornwall are subject to significant delays and last minute cancellations. Please do not attempt to travel by train unless your journey is absolutely necessary.
- A landslip between Teignmouth and Dawlish has closed the railway. Trains cannot run between Exeter St Davids and Newton Abbot. Bus services will run to intermediate stations, however road conditions mean these services will be very limited, and will add considerable time to journeys.
- Services between London Paddington and Exeter St Davids are running
- Services between Newton Abbot, Plymouth, Penzance and stations in between are running but may be subject to last minute delay and cancellation.
