Free Tax Savings Seminar for Farmers and Landowners
Farmers and landowners from Exeter and the surrounding area are invited to a free seminar hosted by local chartered accountancy firm Simpkins Edwards at which they can learn how to reduce their tax burden.
The seminar will take place on Tuesday 26 November at The Gissons Inn from 7.30pm–8.30pm. Expert speaker Mary Jane Campbell, partner at Simpkins Edwards, will cover subjects such as capital gains tax, inheritance tax, employment legislation and income tax – all with the aim of providing practical, tailored tax-saving advice for rural businesses. Guests will also benefit from the guidance of guest speaker Mark Neason from Stags property agency who will cover common agricultural policy (CAP) reforms. The seminar will be followed by light refreshments and the opportunity to speak to the experts on a one-to-one basis.
“Our seminar will focus on giving sound, practical advice on ways in which tax burdens can be reduced, with a specific focus for rural businesses and landowners,” said Mary Jane Campbell, who as well as heading up Simpkins Edwards’ rural and agricultural team, also lives on and helps to run a Devon farm. “The Westcountry is full of agricultural enterprises of all sizes and it’s vitally important to our local economy that we support these businesses and allow them to thrive – even in challenging conditions.”
Those interested in attending should either call Sharon Roberts at Simpkins Edwards on 01392 211233 or email: sroberts@simpkinsedwards.co.uk. The seminar is open to all businesses and individuals, whether an existing client of Simpkins Edwards or not.
