Freemasons keep taking the tablet
Despite being one of the people being categorised as vulnerable Ian Kingsbury JP. the leader of the Devonshire Freemasons felt it was his duty as a freemason and a caring member of society to engage with those who are even more in need than himself. Ian organised to meet (at a safe distance) Claire Walker the business manager of Cadogan Court, the Masonic Care Home in Exeter where he presented her with five Sagem Electronic Tablets for use by the elderly residents to help them maintain contact with their friends and families during their self-imposed lockdown due to the risks of infection from Covid 19.
The attached photograph shows Ian Kingsbury presenting the tablets to Claire Walker, Business Manager of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution (RMBI) Cadogan Court. Claire said that they would be a very welcome addition to the tablets they have at the moment, which are already proving invaluable with residents, and the generous gift now means that there will be enough for one tablet for each wing of the home for residents to use to maintain contact with their loved ones.
At the RMBI they care for older Freemasons, their families and people in the wider community. They operate 18 care homes in England and Wales and have been supporting older people for over 170 years.
Whether people need residential or nursing care, specialist dementia support or day services, RMBI cares for them professionally and kindly. They treat people as individuals - and work together with everyone to design a care plan that meets their needs and allows them to experience well-being and meaningfulness.
RMBI Cadogan Court, Exeter can support up to a total of 70 residents, forty eight in the residential area of the home, eleven in dedicated nursing quarters and a further eleven in a dementia-support wing of the home. The dedicated members of staff are proud that, through their efforts and those of their visitors before the lock-down, they have managed to stay free of COVID-19.
RMBI Care Co. is part of the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) – a new charity for Freemasons, for families, for everyone.
