Fun day celebrates Newcourt Station opening

A community fun day was held at Newcourt in Exeter recently to enable local residents to celebrate the opening of the station and to thanks them for their support during its construction.

The Newcourt Community Association organised the event with the help of Devon County Council. There was plenty of fun for all ages, with a BBQ, bouncy castle, and face painting, and with entertainment provided by the Lympstone Training Band.

The Travel Devon roadshow, Stagecoach and the Network Rail Safety Team were also on hand to give out information on rail safety, sustainable travel and public transport.

Residents also received a goody bag from Great Western Railway which included taster tickets to encourage residents to try the train.
