Gas leak at Exeter Golf and Country Club

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue received a call reporting a gas leak in a plant room at Exeter Golf and Country Club in Topsham Road.

Fire control immediately mobilised one fire appliance from Middlemoor, one fire appliance from Topsham and the Environmental Protection Unit from Newton Abbot to attend this incident at 7.25pm yesterday (April 3).

On arrival the officer in charge confirmed a gas leak in a plant room. Crews got to work putting in a fifty metre cordon and evacuating the premises. In addition the crews got to work ventilating the property wearing breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a gas monitor.

One ambulance was requested as one male suffering from inhalation of the fumes.

The club is fully open today.
