Get set for A Doggy Day Out at Exeter Racecourse with Britain’s Got Talent star Lucy Heath
Due to the weather forecast for torrential rain and high winds this weekend, event organisers have reluctantly decided that it’s not safe for the event to go ahead as planned on Sunday 17th September.
The event will now take place on Saturday 7th October.
Canine event specialist A Doggy Day Out will bring the immensely popular Big Bark to Exeter Racecourse for the very first time this on Saturday 7th October (previously planned for 17th September). The day is crammed with ‘wag-tastic’ doggy activities, many hosted by canine experts like Lucy Heath.
Best known for reaching the Britain’s Got Talent final Lucy Heath will be in the main display ring to wow the crowds with her clever pack of pooches the Baking Tricksters. Lucy will also be on hand with unmissable advice for would-be tricksters in a live training session too.
Meanwhile A Doggy Day Out will pursue its pledge to support local animal charities in the Dog Show Ring with a collection of classes aimed at finding the cutest puppy, the waggiest tail, the best fancy dressed dog and more. All proceeds from the show will go towards the welfare of dogs and cats at Gables.
Visitors and their dogs will have the chance to try out a range of canine orientated activities too. Experts in their respective fields will invite visitors to try out activities such as Hoopers, Cani Cross and Parkour. For those inclined towards munching on tasty morsels instead, there’ll be a choice of more sedate activities based around scent-work and gravy bone or sausage detection.
The Big Bark Exeter will also see the launch of A Doggy Day Out’s Memory Tree. Owners are invited to write dedications to much loved pets they’ve lost on the tree. Dedicates will then be buried in a special memory garden after the event and proceeds raised will again be donated to local charities.
As Jo Macaskie, A Doggy Day Out Director says ‘We’re excited to be bringing the much loved Big Bark to Exeter Racecourse for the first time. Lots of planning and organisation has gone into the event so that we can be sure it offers the best day-out possible for dogs and their families locally. We hope that the day will allow visitors to cast aside the daily grind for a while, and we love sharing our passion for our pets in this way’.
