Haul of jewellery recovered by officers in Exeter
Police are asking the public to come forward to help identify a haul of jewellery recovered by officers in Exeter.
Officers believe the numerous items of jewellery – including distinctive rings and watches – may have been stolen during burglaries or thefts in Devon and Cornwall or further afield.
The appeal follows the arrest of a 57-year-old Exeter man in July in connection with handling stolen goods.
Exeter police are urging anyone who recognises the items to come forward and contact them.
PC Suzanne Vranch, of Exeter CID, said: “We are appealing for victims of crime to examine the photographs and consider whether they recognise any items. The items may relate to crimes as far back as the last year.
“We are also keen to speak to anyone who may have had war medals and cap badges stolen as several items have also been recovered.
“In the event people believe the items belong to them, measures will be taken to establish ownership.”
Anyone who recognises any of the jewellery is asked to contact police on 101, quoting crime reference DE/12/9626.
