Police are appealing for information after items of jewellery of huge sentimental value were taken from a property near Sidmouth.

A double-stranded pearl necklace, silver rose quartz set of earrings, and a rose quartz pendant on a silver chain were taken during a burglary at a property in Glebelands, Newton Poppleford.

Detectives believe entry was gained through an insecure door, sometime between 10am and 10.45pm on Thursday 19 March.

Detective Constable Matthew Burnell, Honiton CID, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area at the time or knows the whereabouts of the stolen items, some of which are of huge sentimental value to the owner.

“Residents are reminded to keep their doors locked, even in the seemingly quieter areas.”
