Jo Pavey in stand against doping
Devon runner Jo Pavey is taking a stand against drugs cheats by agreeing to make her blood test results public.
Following a national newspaper investigation, athletes were warned last week against publishing their test results. British Athletics feared releasing selective data could be “misinterpreted” and may also imply those not publishing their data were “guilty by omission."
But Mo Farah, whose coach, Alberto Salazar, was the subject of doping allegations – and has since denied any wrongdoing – broadcast in a BBC Panorama programme in June, along with Jo are among eight top British athletes in defying athletics authorities and asking for details of his anti-doping blood test data to be made public.
Jo, 41, said: "I have no problem putting my blood test results out there for people to see. I have nothing to be afraid of.
"My physiotherapist had a look at my blood tests scores once and commented on how boring they were. I think publishing your data is a great thing for an athlete to do. Why shouldn't I?
