Cumberland Grange care home in Exeter recently took on the challenge of completing 100 laps of the garden all in aid of Age UK here in Exeter. Residents, staff, family members and the community all dressed up for the occasion in fancy dress before setting off and doing as many laps as possible.

There was live music, a smoothie station, a sangria station and a cake station to keep everyone well hydrated and fed. The 100 laps were successfully completed with all residents receiving a medal at the end.

Jogie, General Manager at Cumberland Grange, said: “We work closely with Age UK and see the fantastic work they do for older people, their families and carers in our local community, so it is a real pleasure to be able to support them. We wanted to do a fun and engaging challenge, especially with the London Marathon which took place at the weekend, so this was our version! We all had a truly wholesome afternoon with many laughs along the way.”

Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.

Cumberland Grange Care Home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering high-quality care across its care homes and hospitals. Cumberland Grange provides Residential Care, Dementia Care and Respite Care.
