Local care home to hold fundraiser in support of FORCE
Staff and residents at Barchester’s Cumberland Grange care home in Exeter will be supporting FORCE Cancer Charity on the 6th of February in support of World Cancer Day by fundraising to support this worthy cause. Staff and residents from Cumberland Grange are inviting members of the community and beyond to join them on the 6th at 11am to help support this wonderful charity.
There will be a delicious cake sale, fun games and an amazing raffle with prizes from Greendale Farm Shop, Illumine Candle Co., Waitrose, Tesco, Luscombe Drinks and more.
The idea behind World Cancer Day is to have one single initiative when the entire world can come together to fight cancer. Thanks to research, two in four people will now survive their cancer for 10 years or more. World Cancer Day unites people, communities and entire countries to raise awareness and take action against cancer.
General Manager, Marc said: “Cancer affects so many people, we all know someone who has had or is fighting cancer so we felt it was important to support FORCE Cancer Charity who are based here in Exeter who do such tremendous work helping people whose lives are affected by cancer. We welcome people to join us to help raise money. It is set to be a lovely event.’
Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
