The Lord Mayor of Exeter begun visiting care homes across the city last week to allow residents to sign books of condolence to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. She started with a visit to Cumberland Grange.

Staff and residents at Barchester’s Cumberland Grange care home in Exeter were extremely honoured to have The Lord Mayor join them and spend time reminiscing on what a wonderful women The Queen was, and how much of an impact she had on our lives over the years.

Deputy Manager, Daniela Caba, said: “During what has been an emotional time for many of our residents, it was incredibly heart-warming that Our Lord Mayor of Exeter wanted to come and see us. All of our residents were given an opportunity to write in the books of condolence which was a gesture we are all very grateful for. This is such a significant and sad time, but with the kindness of people like Our Lord Mayor, it really does make you feel part of a strong community, coming together.”

Cumberland Grange Care Home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering high-quality care across its care homes and hospitals. Cumberland Grange provides Residential Care, Dementia Care and Respite Care.
