Members of Exeter Philharmonic Choir, which has recently raised money for the Lord Mayor's charity SSAFA Devon, attended a special reception and cheque presentation at the city’s Guildhall last week.

The event was to thank all the organisations who have contributed to a grand total of over £23,000 for SSAFA Devon, which provides practical and emotional support for serving personnel, veterans and military families. A collection held at Exeter Philharmonic Choir’s concert in March raised £726.66 for the charity.

EPC Committee members, Chris Burns and Vicki Henderson, joined the Lord Mayor of Exeter, Councillor Rob Hannaford, and other fundraisers for the reception. A large cheque was presented to Brigadier Andy Pillar OBE, Chairman of SSAFA Devon, who told guests how the money would be put to use helping members of the Armed Forces community across Devon.
