Man charged following Exeter drugs warrant
A man has been charged after officers carried out a drugs warrant at an address in Tedburn St Mary, Exeter.
A Misuse of Drugs Act warrant was executed at the property on the morning of Wednesday 1 July by officers from Newton Abbot CID and the South Devon Tasking Team.
Entry was forced to the address and what is believed to be a sophisticated cannabis growing operation was located inside.
A man was located at the premises and arrested.
Khanh Nguyen, 30, of Tedburn St Mary, Exeter, has been charged with the production of cannabis and remanded in custody. He is due to appear at South Devon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 2 July.
A second man, aged 50, from the Exeter area, was arrested elsewhere on suspicion of being concerned in the production of cannabis and has been released on police bail until 1 December pending further enquiries.
Sergeant Mark Ruston, from the local policing team leader based in Chudleigh, said: “I urge our communities to report any suspicious activity where they believe there may be drug use or production taking place across the area.
