Man falls to his death at Dartmoor's Haytor Rock

At shortly after 10.00am on Saturday 2nd February 2013, Police were called to Haytor Rock on Dartmoor where a male, who was described as being in a distressed state, was seen on top of the popular tourist attraction.

Police officers attempted to communicate with the man but he fell from the rocks and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male's body, thought to be a local man in his sixties, was conveyed by the police helicopter to Torbay Hospital. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
