Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man was airlifted to hospital following a two-vehicle collision near Hatherleigh on Friday 11 September.

At around 5.35pm a yellow Vauxhall Astra van and a black Mitsubishi Outlander were involved in a collision on the A386 Station Road at Meethe.

The 32-year-old male driver of the Astra, from Torrington, sustained serious internal injuries and was airlifted to the North Devon District Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The female driver of the Outlander, aged 40, from Beaworthy, suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed for two hours while an examination of the scene was carried out by officers from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit.

Police would like to hear from any witnesses or anyone who saw the vehicles in the moments before the collision.
