Michael Caines' 7 Chefs Dinner
The highly acclaimed, Michael Caines’ 7 Chefs Dinner is being held at Exeter Golf and Country Club this year, strengthening links between the club and the Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink.
As a third year sponsor of the VIP Lounge at the festival, Exeter Golf and Country Club was the first choice venue for the prestigious 7 Chefs Dinner which is growing year on year. The club is also the venue for the South West Chef of the Year Awards in October, also organised by Michael Caines, MBE.
The 7 Chefs Dinner is an annual event bringing together the top chefs of the region to create a seven-course menu of local, seasonal food. With this year’s larger venue, the dinner is expected to attract over 100 guests. The chefs participating in the 2016 dinner, which takes place on Tuesday 19th April will travel from some of the best restaurants and hotels in the South West.
The seven chefs taking part are, Michael Caines, MBE, Adam Little of Exeter Golf and Country Club, Tom Hine of Kentisbury Grange, Dez Turland of Brend Hotels, Matthew Preyer of Lewtrenchard Manor, Sam Moody of The Bath Priory plus another yet to be announced.
Chris Jones, General Manager of Exeter Golf and Country Club said, “We are delighted to have been chosen by Michael as the venue for his famous 7 Chef’s Dinner. The dinner is certainly the highlight of the dining calendar in the region due to the exceptional chefs participating and the exemplary quality of the fresh produce and drink supplied by the sponsors. Our team of chefs, headed up by Adam who is cooking one of the courses at the dinner, have excelled themselves this year in raising our standards of food. We are seeing our Piano Sunday Lunches fully booked, our events such as Mother’s Day, Valentine’s and Christmas fully booked. Our partnership with Michael for events such as the 7 Chefs Dinner and the South West Chef of the Year certainly solidifies our place within the top food establishments in Exeter and the local area. Exeter Golf and Country Club is incredibly proud and honored to work with Michael and host these fantastic events.”
Tickets for the 7 Chefs Dinner are on sale now and available as tables of ten. Michael anticipates a high demand as the dinner in previous years has always sold out, hence the change to a larger venue.
Michael Caines said, ““This year we are excited to work with our new partner Exeter Golf and Country Club. Their venue offers us a larger capacity which will accommodate the increasing demand for this very popular event. We have a line-up of 7 amazing chefs who will be showcasing some of the best ingredients of the South West along with their culinary skills. The event is all about celebrating food and drink and is supported by our long term sponsors Boulter Bowen. This is a once in a year occasion which celebrates the festival’s ethos of great hospitality, food and drink. It is most definitely a ‘not-to-be-missed’ event.”
