Natural Light in Portraiture Masterclass
On Tuesday 14 October, Southernhay House Hotel in Exeter will host two of the country’s top portrait photographers, who are joining forces for a masterclass on capturing natural light in environmental portraiture.
The event is being run by the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP); an internationally recognised qualifying organisation with over 100 years of experience in qualifying and supporting photographers.
The well known UK & European portrait photographer, Bella West FBIPP, will lead the day by demonstrating how to achieve beautiful portraits of children and young people. Her style will be contrasted with that of Chris Harper FBIPP's visually stimulating, fast moving, fitness photography.
Delegates will learn the differences between the two styles and discover how similar lighting and backgrounds can be used for two very distinct types of photography. They will be encouraged to be less reliant on their kit and the limitations of the camera and use their eyes to escape from ordinary images into something much more creative.
Bella West FBIPP, a Fellow of the BIPP, has been at the forefront of the European social photography scene for the past twenty years. A specialist in natural light and location portraiture, she is a passionate photographer, teacher and lecturer throughout Europe.
Chris Harper FBIPP was the youngest ever President of the BIPP and now assesses & mentors photographers working towards qualification. He was already a Fellow of the BIPP when he successfully achieved the very first BIPP qualification in Fitness Photography. Chris has been a photographer for over twenty years and vehemently believes that it’s vital to keep learning and improving.
This inspiring, hands-on, training day is open to both professional & amateur photographers who are keen to enhance their existing skills and/or develop new ones.
