New commander for Exeter, Mid & East Devon
Superintendent Keith Perkin has been appointed the new Police lead for areas including Exeter, East Devon and Mid Devon.
With responsibility for over 300 staff including police officers, civilians, police community support officers and Special Constables, he has a management team of one Chief Inspector, seven Inspectors and three Detective Inspectors to assist him.
Having grown up in Cornwall, and now living in Devon’s capital city, Supt Perkin first began his career with Devon & Cornwall Police over twenty years ago as a Police Constable in Exeter.
He was also a member of Exeter CID for a number of years. Since then, he has held key responsibilities both at headquarters, South Devon and the major crime team.
His role prior to returning to Exeter was Head of CID in Plymouth.
On securing his post, Supt Perkin said: “Exeter and the surrounding area is developing a reputation for excellence. It has a top class University, a premiership Rugby Club and a growing commercial sector.
"There are also areas of outstanding natural beauty.
"My focus for policing the areas of Exeter, East and Mid Devon is to work closely with colleagues and partners to provide a professional policing service in keeping with other sectors where those living, working and visiting the area feel that we care about keeping them safe.”
