Superact is pleased to announce that they have been successful in securing funding to support a second phase of their 2015 project Exe-Arts.

The new project, Exe-Arts Plus, will be delivering open community creative workshops from both Exeter Community Centre and St. Sidwell’s Community Centre.

Exe-Arts Plus will offer taster courses in a variety of art forms at a very accessible price during the Autumn 2016 and Winter/Spring of 2017, including workshops, such as painting, ceramics, graffiti art, photography, story telling, sculpture and fabric arts. Superact is a not for profit arts organisation with offices at the Exeter Community Centre in St. David’s.

Exe-Arts Plus will also deliver a bespoke programme of creative activity for St. Petrock’s homeless shelter and Gabriel House residents. This programme is aimed at improving confidence and well being in the participants, and will allow them an opportunity to develop their own arts activities.

Superact’s Patsy Lang said “We’re really pleased to have received funding for Exe-Arts Plus from Exeter City Community Board, Exeter City Councilts Small Arts programme and Arts Council Engloand. The programme will kick off in October with sessions taking place on Thursday evenings at Exeter Community Centre, and Tuesday evenings at St. Sidwell’s Sessions will be open to all ages, so there will be something for everyone to enjoy. We hope people will come along with friends and family, or by yourself and meet new people.”

“The City Council firmly supports the idea that arts and culture can help make a difference in people’s lives and so we are delighted that Exeter’s small arts grants can help deliver a range of creative workshops for all ages from the local community of St David’s,“ said Cllr Rosie Denham, Lead Councillor for Economy and Culture.
