Devon County Council partnership-working has been given an extra boost with the appointment of local Partnerships Superintendent Chris Eastwood.

Supt. Eastwood will be largely based at County Hall for the next two years. In this new position for Devon and Cornwall Police, he will be responsible for identifying and developing opportunities to work with the County Council and other partner agencies to support closer collaborative working and deliver better outcomes for communities.

“With the challenges facing the public sector, we all need to look at ways to work more creatively and differently; and, most importantly, to engage with partners and communities” said Supt Eastwood.

“This is a really exciting role which provides the possibility to explore multi-agency services based in localities that are responsive to local need, and other collaborative working opportunities.

"Innovative thinking and problem solving are often best found with those who are closest to the issues. Key to the success of this work is to listen to our communities and partners, build relationships and to co-produce solutions.”

Prior to his posting, Supt Eastwood was the commander for the policing areas of Exeter, East and Mid Devon, and Chair of Exeter Community Safety Partnership.
