Paul Young to headline Exeter's After Dark Music Fesival

Los Pacaminos featuring Paul Young will headline this year’s Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink's ‘After Dark Music Festival’ on Thursday 21st April.

The hugely popular After Dark events run on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights of the festival weekend in the Exeter Castle Courtyard.

This year the After Dark Music Festival is sponsored by Pavey Group.

Fronted by one of the UK's finest and best loved vocalists, Paul Young, Los Pacaminos will entertain the crowds with its Americana / Tex Mex sound, both classics and original material. They will be supported by two talented local acts, Yazzy, a singer-songwriter from North Devon and singer-songwriter Eleanor who has numerous performances lined up at major festivals this year. 

Tickets to the Thursday After Dark Music Festival are £15 at the gate or £12 in advance.

With its unique party atmosphere, the After Dark Music Festival events bring a host of talented musicians to the stage while producers sell local beers, wines, ciders and a wide selection of street food. 

Paul Young will join Michael Caines on stage for cookery demonstrations at the Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink on the morning of Friday 22nd April.

Friday’s After Dark event is headlined by pop/rock band To The Sun who will entertain the crowds with their uniquely exciting and varied pop, rock and funk set. Band members include Adam Isaac, quarter finalist of BBC’s The Voice UK.  Supporting To The Sun will be local jazz band Locked Horns and the hugely talented Stephens Scown Choir. Tickets are £8.

The Electric Swing Circus will wow the crowds on Saturday night with their dazzling fusion of 20s swing and stomping beats. Regularly selling out at their performances, Electric Swing Circus promise a fabulous night of entertainment.  Supporting is Cameron Mills, a skilled, versatile young Devon musician with a delightful, jazzy swing to his voice and Raining Globe - a 3-piece indie rock/pop band from Devon playing original music.  This talented local band were featured on BBC Introducing in 2014 and have played at many Devon festivals. Tickets are £8.

For the first time, the After Dark Music Festival tickets will allow entry into Northernhay Gardens from 4pm on Friday and Saturday evenings, allowing visitors to browse the festival stands before heading through to the castle courtyard from 6pm for the evening’s festivities.

The multi-award winning Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink will run in Northernhay Gardens and Exeter Castle from Friday 22nd – Sunday 24th April. With more exhibitors, chefs and local producers expected than ever before the Exeter Food Festival is set to be the ultimate foodie weekend and the region’s leading food Festival.  

Tickets on sale from the Ticket Factory or from the Exeter Phoenix box office. Combined tickets may be purchased for day time and After Dark Music Festival on the Friday and Saturday. NB - Standard Day & VIP Day Tickets do not permit entry to After Dark Music Festival.
