Police appeal for witnesses after Barnstaple man assaulted near Crediton railway station
Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault near Crediton railway station which left a man with a serious injury.
The victim approached the male suspect and was lured into the bushes in Station Road, where he was hit over the head with an unknown weapon.
The victim, in his 50s and from Barnstaple, sustained a deep cut to his head which required stitches.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault which happened around 9pm on Wednesday 26 June.
