Police appeal for witnesses to Sidwell Street attack

Police are appealing for witnesses following an unprovoked assault in Sidwell Street, Exeter.

At around 9.55pm on Wednesday 1st June, a 36-year-old local man was walking past the Monkey Suit pub on Sidwell Street when a man ran past him, punching him to the left side of his face.

The victim did not require medical treatment but was shaken by the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5’10 in height with a stocky build and short mousy brown coloured hair.

Police have arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with this incident; he has since been bailed until the 6th of June pending further enquiries.
