Police Support Exeter City FC's Party at the Park
Police officers from the local Neighbourhood Team, along with police staff, will be lending their support to Exeter City FC’s ‘Party at The Park’ this weekend.
The fun packed free event at St James’ Park kicks off on Sunday 2 July and is raising funds for a very good cause – TeamEvo v MND (Motor Neurone Disease). Peter Eveleigh from the club’s Community Trust (known as Evo), was diagnosed with MND at the age of 30 and his colleagues and friends are supporting his family to raise awareness and give him a good level of care.
Visitors can enjoy the activities at the club from 11am until 6pm and these include live music, dancing, stadium tours and training sessions, plus an online auction. Fans can meet some of the male and female Exeter City players, as well as the Grecian’s mascots. Face painting and refreshments will also be available.
There is also the chance for people to see the new Exeter City shirt for the upcoming football season which starts in August.
Exeter Sector Inspector Simon Arliss said: “We are happy to support this popular local event which is raising funds for a fantastic cause. Local officers will be chatting to visitors and answering questions, as well as offering crime prevention advice.
“We are always keen to support local events, when we can and this is a great opportunity to do so. Come and meet the local team, have a chat and maybe even leave with some freebies”.
