Police telephone system restored

The telephone system has been completely restored at police headquarters in Exeter following work by BT emergency engineers.

Telephone services within Exeter control room were significantly disrupted this morning after lightning struck a mast at Middlemoor HQ.

All telephone calls to police were diverted to the Plymouth control room and all 999 calls were not affected.
