PR professional elected to national council
Mandy Pearse, Director of local PR and marketing firm Seashell Communications has been elected to serve on the national Council of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) it was announced last week.
Thirty eight candidates stood in the elections to the Council which is the decision making body for the insitute which serves nearly 10,000 professionals across the UK and Europe.
After a campaign lasting three weeks Mandy beat off strong competition from across the UK to secure one of the coveted seats on the CIPR Council. She is the sole representative from the Westcountry.
Pearse said: “It is a real honour to be selected by my fellow professionals to serve on the Council. We have a fantastic PR industry in the region but raising standards in the profession, encouraging everyone to become a member of the industry body and delivering more training locally are critical.”
Mandy has been a member of the CIPR for over ten years and is also a Chartered Marketer. Before setting up Seashell Communications in 2012 she spent over 20 years working in house in corporate public relations most recently heading up communications at Exeter City Council.
She has won numerous CIPR Excellence awards and is currently Vice Chair of the CIPR’s Local Public Services Group.
