Princess Royal to visit Exeter
The Princess Royal is visiting Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau on Monday 16 February to formally open the charity’s new offices on Dix’s Field.
The Princess Royal, who is patron of the national Citizens Advice charity, will be greeted by our Chair, Dennis Mardon and then shown round the bureau by Chief Executive Steve Barriball and will have the chance to observe the volunteers in action, as well as seeing new ways of ensuring clients get the advice they need.
During the visit she will meet paid staff, and volunteers. At the end of the visit HRH will unveil a plaque to mark the occasion.
The Princess Royal will also meet local MP Ben Bradshaw, the Lord Mayor of Exeter Percy Prowse, and Karime Hassan, Chief Executive of Exeter City Council.
Exeter CAB Chair Dennis Mardon said: “We are very fortunate to have HRH The Princess Royal as our national patron and to be able to welcome her in person to our new offices.
“Her support for the work of the CAB service is greatly appreciated and we are delighted she is able to join us to formally open our new offices.”
Last year, the charity helped some 16,251 people with 29,446 problems. Although the bureau will be closed to the public on the day of visit, all other services will be available and extra staff will be answering Adviceline calls.
