Trustees of Rainbow Living Exeter have publicly thanked local businesses and charitable foundations for their generous donations, which have enabled the purchase of a specialist bath for their Exeter house.

Local healthcare and protection insurance provider The Exeter donated £2,000; the charity was also supported by the James Tudor Foundation, which donated £4,500, and the St Edmunds and St Mary’s Major Charity, which donated a further £330.

Rainbow Living is a local charity which provides specially adapted accommodation for adults with disabilities; the charity understands the need to provide aids to support independent living and installation of the new bath will make a real difference to the life of one of the tenant’s by enabling the individual to continue to bathe with autonomy and dignity.

Ruth Airdrie from Rainbow Living said: “It’s important that we continue to support our Rainbow tenants as their needs change and we recognised that there was a need to purchase a specialist bath to enable tenants to be supported to bathe safely and efficiently in their own home.

“We know that disabled adults face challenges of bathing safely in the home, and we are very grateful to the charitable foundations and businesses which supported us in acquiring this specialist bath - it will make a real difference to the lives of the tenants in our Exeter Rainbow House.”
