Raising funds for Warm Little Feet
The Salvation Army Response Singers from Exeter recently gave a superb Harvest Concert at Sandford Congregational Church, which was well attended.
Their leader, Andrew Cutler told the congregation that he had recently visited Moldova, the poorest country in Eastern Europe. He showed them a harvest plaque which had been made by ladies and children in Moldova. Andrew brought back 25 plaques with him to sell and raise funds for the charity Warm Little Feet.
Warm Little Feet aims to buy warm, fur-lined boots for children in Moldova. Without these boots they are unable to go to school in the winter as the temperature falls well below zero. Each pair of boots costs £25, so they are raising funds to buy as many as many pairs as possible before the cold winter sets in.
On Friday 3 October the Singers are holding an evening of music entitled Raise the Roof at the Salvation Army Hall, Friars Gate, Exeter. Admission is free and refreshments will be available by donation.
