Santa Claus is coming to town… well, Bear Town, to be precise
Bear Town, the newly opened children’s role play attraction, which is based just outside Exeter, will be offering special socially-distanced visits to Father Christmas over the next couple of weeks.
But you’ll need to hurry, as slots are limited, and bookings are going fast.
Ben Jordan, owner of Bear Town, said: ‘We’re getting really excited for Father Christmas’s visits. We know how difficult things have been for families, so we wanted to bring a little bit of joy through a visit to Father Christmas. Of course, with covid-safety guidelines, things will be a bit different, but there will be the usual gift giving and chat with Father Christmas - we are aiming to make it a magical experience for every child.’
Upon arrival, families will be given their own Christmas buzzer, which Father Christmas will activate when he is ready to meet them in his grotto. Bear Town’s friendly elves will be on hand to greet and welcome them into the grotto where children will meet Father Christmas and receive their gift. Visitors will also have the option to purchase a Christmas photo in a bauble or keyring after their grotto visit.
The visits to Father Christmas will take place on the weekend of December 12th and 13th and from December 19th to 24th and they will be incorporated into the children’s two-hour play session at Bear Town. The café will also be offering Christmas treats, alongside its regular menu of delicious, and locally-sourced where possible, food.
Bear Town is a unique interactive role play street, where children can play at grown up jobs in 12 different ‘rooms’. The jobs range from mechanics, to actors and vets to hair stylists. The attraction was built during lockdown and opened its doors in October.
