Skin Angels ambassador's campaign song
Skin Angels ambassador, singer and songwriter Charlotte Ward, is launching a song in support of their campaign, later this month.
The song, titled ‘Cover it up’, will be sung live for the first time during Charlotte’s set on the Castle stage at the Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink, between 1.30 and 2.30pm on Saturday 26th April.
Skin Angels, set up in 2013 by Mariam Badavi from Exeter's Purity Boutique Spa, are on a mission to raise awareness of the importance of protecting skin from the sun, even during the autumn and winter months and aim to arm young people with knowledge about looking after their skin to prevent and treat skin conditions such as acne.
Charlotte said "I've been a Skin Angels ambassador for a while and really wanted to write a song to promote them and the great work they do. It's the first time I've written a song to a brief and that was quite hard initially but I'm really pleased with the result".
Mariam said: “Charlotte is such a talented singer and I think the Skin Angels song is amazing. I hope it helps to get the message out to young people about looking after their precious skin.”
Exeter rugby player Carl Rimmer is also an ambassador for Skin Angels and will join the team at the festival. The Skin Angels stand will be near the Garden stage in Northernhay Gardens.
They will also be out and about throughout 2014 visiting schools, colleges and other events across Devon.
The UK charity, Teenage Cancer Trust, is backing Mariam in her efforts.
